Juan Toscano-Anderson Becomes the First Player of Mexican Descent to Win an NBA Title
The Golden State Warriors not only won the 2022 NBA Finals, they made history. The team's forward, Juan Toscano-Anderson, made history this season by becoming the first player of Mexican descent to win an NBA title. Toscano-Anderson celebrated the victory by holding the Mexican flag up for the press and expressing his gratitude for the win in both Spanish and English. In Spanish, Toscano-Anderson told the press: It feels amazing. I'm very happy, and then continued in English, I mean, this is the biggest dream come true. Though he only played for a limited time due to roster changes in the final game, Toscano-Anderson spent the rest of the season playing 73 games with an average of 4.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists in each game.
